Inside Out will be Pixar Animation’s 15th feature film in 20 years. They’ve told stories about anthropomorphic race cars and octogenarian widowers managing their grief. In that stretch the studio has redefined what it means to use computers to make movies, and what it means to make art for children.
Their commitment to art, technology and family entertainment has always anchored the studio’s endeavor. And as a result, Pixar has produced some of the best cinema of the past two decades.
To celebrate these achievements, The Stake is starting a countdown of Pixar Animation’s titles. Each film will get considered individually, but the project will also be a countdown of quality. Starting tomorrow, and going until the release of Inside Out, we will discuss the films while ranking them, worst to best. Worst, when it comes to Pixar, is a relative term.
This post will also operate as a landing page, linking to each film as it is revealed. For now, here’s a reminder of the films that Pixar has made, in order of their release.
