Eva Green’s family pretends The Dreamers never existed

Since we previously discussed the ban on the Sin City 2 poster featuring Eva Green, I thought it relevant to present the following clip from last night’s Jimmy Kimmel.

Green and Kimmel start the segment by discussing the poster which was rejected by the MPAA as unsuitable for distribution in the US. Kimmel reiterates the complaint made here previously, “The gun is fine. No problem with the gun,” he says. “But these,” he continues pointing to her breasts, “these are unacceptable.”

Eva Green concurred. “Boobs have never killed anyone.”

But I was particularly interested in the segment’s discussion of nudity in Green’s films. In the course of their conversation, Green talks about doing her comfort doing such work in this film and others (as long as it’s tasteful and arftully made). Then she relates her family’s reaction to her work on Bernardo Bertolucci’s 2003 film The Dreamers: “It’s as if it never existed. It’s completely taboo in the family.”
