Is there a Kubrick reference in the new Godzilla trailer?

I’ve got mixed feelings about this teaser trailer for 2014’s Godzilla: after the David Strathairn speech at the beginning, it’s just a procession of images with little story. But the way it teases the appearance of the monster at the end is pretty cool.

Also, I could be wrong, but the haunting music at the beginning of the trailer sounded to me like the Gyorgy Ligeti’s Requiem, famously featured in Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.
