Tina Fey Returning to Television

Tina Fey is made for television.

Her years as the head writer at Saturday Night Live were the show’s best since in the last two decades. After she left SNL, all she did was create the funniest television sitcom of the new millennium in 30 Rock. Fey’s 30 Rock was not just hysterical, but challenging and relevant (words that are both cliche and accurate) and filled with the kind of bizarre nonsense that allows comedy to actually move its audience.

All the meanwhile, Fey has found success in film elusive. Her first project, Mean Girls, remains her best. Everything else has fallen far short of the potential that is Tina Fey.

So it is welcome news to hear of her return to the world she conquered on the network that needs some life.

NBC has greenlit a new show from Tina Fey, to star The Office’s Ellen Kemper. “The series will center on a woman (Kemper) who “escapes from a doomsday cult and starts life over in New York City.”

Sounds like we all get to look forward to more Tina goodness.

And, because it’s Halloween, and this post mentions 30 Rock, here’s the full Werewolf Bar Mitzvah video.
