Wonder Woman sketched, ca. 1941

Talk about origin stories.

What you see here is the actual origin of Wonder Woman, sketched out by artist Harry G. Peter, with correspondence from Peter and William Moulton Marston, on the creation of one of our greatest super-heroines, in 1941

Peter’s accompanying note is in black; the response from Marston in red. Of particular interest to me are the shoes, which, according the artist, “look like a stenographers.” Whoever wore such footwear in the 1940s, it seems unlikely to be effective for Wonder Woman’s career.
