Hey, put down your chainsaws and listen to me! Weird Al Yankovic has released a new, old song. It’s called “Pac-Man,” and it’s a parody of the Beatles song “Tax Man”.
Weird Al recorded the song in 1982, in his garage. The song was in rotation for a short while with Dr. Demento, the radio DJ that first played Weird Al’s music for the world. The song disappeared however, when receive Weird Al received “a cease and desist letter from some attorneys representing the Beatles. Dr. Demento couldn’t play it anymore.”
“Pac-Man” will be included in Squeeze Box: The Complete Box Recordings of Weird Al Yankovic, which releases this November, and is housed in an accordion.
Squeeze Box is available for pre-order now.
