At the 2016 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, Netflix’s Stranger Things, Veep‘s Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, and Moonlight‘s Maherashala Ali all won awards. They all used their speech time to speak out against our fascist President Trump and his un-American ban on “freaks” and immigrants.
David Harbour, who plays Sheriff Jim Hopper in Stranger Things, gives a fiery speech about “hunting monsters” and “punching” them “in the face” as he is surrounded by an excited and passionate cast. If you watch one thing today, let it be this speech. It is the “call to arms” we need and it MAY have made me choke up just a little.
