Last year, Woody Harrelson and company came to the Twin Cities to film a dark comedy about a misanthropic middle-age man named Wilson. The film was written by Daniel Clowes; he adapted it from his own graphic novel of the same name. If you know Clowes, you’ll have a sense of the kind of picture Wilson is. Bleak, with a little heart somewhere underneath.
Craig Johnson directed the film, about Wilson’s (Harrelson) discovery that his ex-wife (Laura Dern) had a baby which she gave up for adoption. Now a teenager, Wilson goes on a search to reconnect with his long-lost daughter (Isabella Amara).
Take a look at the hilarious new trailer, and also, see how many local spots you can identify. There’s plenty to note.
Wilson opens March 24, 2017.
